Time for a Fun Day
Been a few days. All days spent on the car, rightfully so. Mike put a good update of the last few days under Twogunz. Now for the girl side lol
Not much really to add, Just that it is hot and humid. I think tonight is the first night it didn’t rain!! An average day consists of working on the car in the morning, possible walking and shopping in the afternoon (after a shower and nap) and visits or TV in the evening. Today we almost took the whole day off from the car! However, we did slip in before dinner and greased up a screw we need to get off tomorrow.
Today is yet another holiday!! Its amazing how quiet our street gets on holidays. Not so much the Roosters, little buggers never take a day off. We caught the parade today. There has been 3 in the last week. We left for one last week, thought it started at 4, but it ended at 4. Oops. The language barrier bites again.
Lee told us the parade started at 9. At 10 we headed up the street and found a spot to stand along a short brick fence amongst many others. It was an overcast day, but still very hot. Mike, being Mike, wore his Canadian outfit; jeans, t-shirt, socks and runners. We were racing back home at 10:30 before he passed out from heat stroke. Bottle of water, quick shower, shorts and flip flops and we headed back, with 10 minutes to spare before it started.
Here’s a few shot . Lets start the day with a Spiraled Hotdog…. blech, not for me lol They actually have these all over the main streets.
Here’s a good view of what most of the streets looked like. Packed on the shadie side lol
It was mostly of women and men dancing.
Women wearing …. large pretty bead pieces in there hair.
This group rocked it all. The women danced and sang hard, while the men played and sang just as hard. you can see the microphone in the middle of the picture, behind the lady in yellow. Shortly behind was the large speaker in the back of a pick up. Gave me goosebumps.
Aaaaand your 10 piece brass band in the back of a pick up.
This little cutie posed for me
As I’m in my short shorts, tank top and flip flops sweating, I cant help but feel for these guys… and there were lots of them. Police, Military, Marine….
And finally, Mike got a good smile watching this old couple sitting on the driveway behind him…
“Get off the grass ya bastards!!!”
Yaaaaa, my first post!! Time for bed, Good night my friends 🙂
