Thinking of Home
Well, toady has been HOT!!! This is the very hottest time of the year down here with the sun directly overhead. You shadow is as big as your shoulders, and that is it! A siesta is almost mandatory in the middle of the day. It’s just too hot to do anything else. The nights, however, are nice. The seasons are on the verge of changing from the dry season to the wet season, and every second night brings showers and thunderstorms. From up here on the hill, the view of the storms at night are a pretty good show. I am told that later on in the season they are louder, stronger and directly overhead.
Anyways, I have gotten the final papers for importing my car now. Al I need is a stamp on my passport so I can leave the country without problems. Then come the thought of returning home. I almost don’t want to, as I know I have to go back to work, but I miss a lot of things about home how. Mostly my couch. Nah… I miss you guys too.
It will be weird to be surrounded by English again, and now having seen the things I have seen, I wonder what I will think when I hear people complaining about their everyday lives as they five in the land of plenty and throw away more than most people here have. It will be hard to keep my mouth shut.
I am already dreaming of my return here, with hope to return to perhaps Guatemala (to look for my wallet) and have more time to sink into the culture and explore. Honduras, around Copan Ruainas, was absolutely incredible and i would like to explore further on the north shore for scuba diving. Nicaragua is where I will take a bike and try again for the volcano in Lago de Nicaragua… and Costa Rica can kiss my ass. You suk. Well, except for the people I know there, and Dominical (about the only place you don’t need a 4×4 to get to).
After forgetting my camera a number of times, I finally have a picture of Boquete.
On a side note, I really hope they can work the bugs out of this web-site. Creating a post has become a bit of a pain (probably the user).
