French Fry Spice Mix

This is a simple spice mix for air fry french fries.  It’s got a helluva zing to it, but mmmmm…

Ingredients
Spice Mix
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne powder ooh, dats spicey
  • 1 tsp salt
Coating (getting it to stick)
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp corn starch subject to revision
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder subject to revision
  • 2 tsp spice mix

Spice Mix
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne powder ooh, dats spicey
  • 1 tsp salt
Coating (getting it to stick)
  • 2 tsp flour
  • 1/2 tsp corn starch subject to revision
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder subject to revision
  • 2 tsp spice mix
Instructions
  1. Get your spice mix done and put it in a jar. Label it!!
  2. Place coating ingredients in a small bowl and add spice mix to it. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Cut up one large russet potatoe into 1/4 inch fries. Soak in water for 10 minutes or longer. Drain, pat dry with a towel, and place in a medium bowl to sprinkle with oil. Toss with spatula (keeps the fingers clean).
  4. Sprinkle spice mix as you toss with spatula until coated, then stop!
  5. Place in oven at 425 for minimum 15 minutes, and enjoy.
