Long Day
Spent the day driving and stopping. I tried to get out to Bralorne heading north out of Lillooet, but…
Well, the road just got a little too rank. I went down the gravel part about 4 clicks… Nowhere to turn around, skinny road, logging trucks coming at me, and it was wet. My car just isn’t the right tool for the job. Damn beg-leg rear end. One spun tire and I was fucked. Before the gravel there was 45 clicks of winding blacktop, hairpin turns, and standing on the brakes a few times. Another good ride for the bike. In the summer.
So, back to Lillooet and out the other way. At least it was paved all the way. 103 clicks of winding blacktop, 13% grades, logging trucks, snow…
Obviously, the other route to Bralorne was out of the question.
I’m now in Richmond. Land of the median. If it isn’t on your side of the road, forget it. Am I ever glad I bought a little compass. Good idea. Never though I’d use it up here in Canada. I was wrong. Ever try navigating a new city at night?
If I sound short and tired, it’s because I am. There is a place in town that sells sell detailed maps of all countries in the world. I’ll be stopping in there tomorrow.
Now, I go looking for the hot-tub.
