Cass and I wanted to know where the meetings were just in District 53. You can't separate meetings out like that on edmontonaa.org, so I thought I'd see what gurgle had to offer, and well, yes, you can create your own account specific maps by following these instructions. The above is my first attempt. I suppose you could add layers for individual days, but I just started playing around with it.
- You need to start by creating a custom map using My Maps.
- Open up My Maps by going to https://www.google.com/maps/d/
- Create a new map
- In the search bar at the top, enter the name of the place you want to add and hit enter
- The search results will have green pins, click on the one you want and an infobox will show on the map
- Click on "Add to map" in the box and the location will be saved on your custom map
- To make the map easier to find, add a name by clicking on the "Untitled map" name and change it to whatever you want.
You can then do all kinds of fancy stuff to your map such as color code the points, sort them onto different layers, etc...
To find the map in the future, go to Google Maps like normal, open up the left side menu, click on "My Maps", and select the map you just created.
