Pounding Jaw

Mfffgrble. Before I go I have had a few visits to the dentist. Two molars removed, six filling replaced. Thank God for a half-assed dental program.

I finally have that timing issue nailed down. Patience was all I needed, but it was in short supply as my head was pounding as I drove around the neighbourhood. stopping and tuning as I went.

I have been reading www.drivemeloco.com and have found a lot of very useful information on this site. Does a lot to ease my mind about crossing the borders. Mostly it sounds like frustration and the occasional bribe. Time will tell.

Where To Now?

Dirty Hands

I tell ya, getting ready for this trip is a pain in the ass. I had to use the car I am taking for work this year, so a few of the little bugs in it had to go unchecked until I was laid off and finally had the time to deal with them.

Over the past week or so I’ve been banging my head against a noise I originally thought was a lifter ticking. This wasn’t a happy sound, as I had rebuilt the engine myself and thought I had done a good job of it. Pull the valve cover, check, tighten, clean, clean, clean… reseal. In the morning the sound was still there. Little gremlin loose and having a ball.

Out of the blue I disconnected the vacuum advance hose and hose was the noise. WTF? All along it was a timing issue.

The Beginning of it All

Well, this is the first posting of Where to Now?

I haven’t a clue, Today I am setting up this blog of what will hopefully be a trip from Edmonton, Canada, to Boquete, Panama. A long Drive indeed. Seeing as none of my friends had the balls to come, this way I can rub it in their face all the way down, and those that have families to take care of can just wish they were me. Ha ha.. Seriously, that’s just a dig at those who are in the know. I am hoping that people can suggest places to go and things to do along the way as there are bound to be lots of things I haven’t even heard of. I don’t know how to reply to, add to, or comment on anything from outside this site, so that will just have to work itself out.
