Where To Now?

Sunset at Big Sur

After acquiring the equatorial buzz-cut, today was all about miles and scenery.  I made it all the way through San Francisco without taking a wrong turn.  Not small feat considering the 101 was cruising along like Calgary Trail on a Friday.  Map in one hand, wheel in the other.  This is the view from the point overlooking the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.  Nice to have some good weather for the shots. Full Moon

Finally some sun.  Just a few pics.  Still figuring out how to adjust for bright pics on my camera.  The instruction manual for it should have been a hard-cover it’s that big.

Met a few folks while I was stopped checking out the view.  Two other folk doing the exact same as me, just a little different.  Fred is the old timer, and the other guy is from all over but lives in Australia.  Hey, if you are reading this, the card you gave me is what I wrote the URL for this site and fie it back by mistake, so comment on here to get a hold of me.  Fred was a “geologist” of sorts and just about lost his brakes coming down a helluva slope.  They were smoking when he stopped.  Read more “Full Moon” →

November Rain

Along the way I stopped at a place called Cannon Beach, a real surfter type resort.  It so happens that I remember staying here as a kid, but I didn’t realize it until I walked out onto the beach.   Back then we camped right on ou of oth beach, but things have changed a little since then.

twogunz Where To Now?

Good Morning…

It’s nice to have a king size bed, but I think I am going to have to look into some different accommodations.  Best Western hotels are nice, but a little on the pricey side.  If I keep going at it like this I will be out of ‘cards’ before I hit the Mexican border where I think the prices should drop.

I am going to try this hostel.  (somewhere )

I may not get in as you may need to book a room first, but I’ll give it a try.  The price is right.

So, that should be my first day into California.  Land of Botox, implants, and “Da Governator”.

Long Day

Spent the day driving and stopping.  I tried to get out to Bralorne heading north out of Lillooet, but…

bralorne road

Well, the road just got a little too rank.  I went down the gravel part about 4 clicks…  Nowhere to turn around, skinny road, logging trucks coming at me, and it was wet.  My car just isn’t the right tool for the job.  Damn beg-leg rear end.  One spun tire and I was fucked.  Before the gravel there was 45 clicks of winding blacktop, hairpin turns, and standing on the brakes a few times.  Another good ride for the bike.  In the summer.
