Where To Now?

The Adventure Now Begins

It’s been a few days since I posted anything on this site.  Just a case of not being around a hot-spot and busy doing maintenance on the car.  I wonder where Hotel-6 minded me rotating tires, changing oil and spark plugs in their parking lot.  I had to get the brakes bled in Yuma, where everyone is gearing up fro Thanksgiving, and not many were interesting in doing any work.  This is the SHORT version.  I finally got it done, with two new brake drums as well, and high-tailed it to Nogales, Arizona, which is less than a mile from the Mexican border.

Tomorrow, I have to go to Sanbornes, a place that sells insurance for vehicles travelling into Mexico, and then it well be off to the border.  The closer you get to the border on the States side, the more patrols you see.  On the TV there are daily news articles depicting the border patrols as ‘vigilant’ and ‘all encompassing’.  I’m sure in an effort towards intimidation to those on the other side thinking about ‘the jump’ as they call it down here. Leaving Las Vegas

This was a great show.  George never lets you down.  I was seated beside a few noisemakers from New York and had the pleasure of having George cut them up into little tiny pieces.  Awesome.  George is about the only guy I know who thinks the same as I do of this world.  One big shopping mall.  And what a place to make his statement!  Ha!

Here, in no particular order… Read more “Leaving Las Vegas” →

The Great Escape

I walked along Sunset Blvd last night and the walk of fame.  The names are a lot more current than the last time I was here.  In the morning, I cruised Beverly Hills just enough to say I was there.  If you look carefully, you can see the Beverly Hills sign in red…

Happiness is a Full Tank of Gas

it turns out that Big Sur and the highway #1 are all about taking you money.  I left Big Sur this morning after eating a “ten dollar” breakfast omelette… deciding I would need only to get about three gallons of the rip-off gas, which fave me a little over half a tank. there is very little signage along the way to let you know where the next town is.  If there is a sign, it lists distances to towns, and although accurate, they are not necessarily the next ones down the road.  All designed to make you think you have a looooong way to go so you had better tank up now.
