Yesterdays Service Call

An upset neighbour produced a call in the afternoon to ‘da boss’ who sent me to investigate.  The immediate problem was water leaking from somewhere at a storied location the company had nothing but problems with for several years.   Water water everywhere….  not making it to the sink.

The first test was the condensate pump, which seemed to work, and so I followed the line to confirm that the water was actually coming out the other end.

Here I found the first problem, a slightly kinked line going into the P-trap.  I found about 2 full feet of tubing inserted into the drain, which is far too much, IMO, so I pulled it all out, snipped off the excess, and tried to blow air into the the line.  No joy.  None at all.

Fair trade – Unemployment for HVAC

Oh, it’s been such a while, where to do I start?  So much has happened in the last little while, the whole experience sits as an island in the otherwise mundane landscape that was my life only six weeks ago.

Since this fake “pandemic” agenda descended on the planet, I had been stuck in a sort of limbo, much like everyone else I guess, waiting for some sense or normalcy to return.   Just prior to that I was employed installing security cameras and access related equipment, which was enjoyable in itself, but problems with pay had me exit that job in search of local employment in the same field, without the amateur headaches.

Greenhouse Come Screenhouse

For many years now I have tended a garden out my back door, for various reasons, of which I’m sure you can ponder a few.  Anticipation of an inflationary trend, learning self-sufficiency, and concerns about the safety of our food supply, never mind the actual nutritional value, has made the “garden fresh” taste a mere bonus to accompany the hard work needed to make it happen,  It’s a labour of love.

Seed tape – does it work?

We’ve had a garden here for several years, with each year bringing new ideas and knowledge, yet no matter what is learned, one fact cannot be escaped.  Gardens are a lot of work!  Work I begrudgingly accept because of the benefits I enjoy.   Oh no, not without grumbling, … there is argument, and costly procrastination (Mother Nature doesn’t give a crap if you are tired), and rotation, planning, compost… etc..

With all of that on the table, any trick to spare some toil is good information to have, and the latest one we’ve tried is the use of seed tape to help in the planting of our carrots.  For a while I was against it, and still am when it comes to the store bought seed tape.  Having read many stories online where the results were not good at all, I was sceptical when Cass brought the idea of home-made seed tape to the table.

Red Whale 2.3: Beached

The Red Whale is done for the year, but not without a final success.  * First, because I switched back to the classic editor, all the pictures are now clickable.  If you want a better look at anything, just click on the picture.  🙂 *

The last endeavor at camping, and the horrendous return (as well as nearly getting stuck getting out of there due to the rains) discouraged us from trying it again until the problem(s) with the truck was found and resolved.  This put a bit of a pinch on the rest of the summer, but luckily other accommodations became available, so we returned a few more times regardless.

In the meantime, the problems with the truck and trailer were put out of my mind completely until just recently, when I came across a B-pressure welder in my travels, as I knew I would eventually.
