Where To Now?

Boquete, Panama

I just love this place.

Here’s a repeat of me going through the border backwards.

Boquete is to panama what Banff is to Alberta, only one helluva lot cheaper and we all speak English instead of Chinese.  It isn’t quite that developed yet, but it will be.  The changes around here over the last 3 years are incredible.  Even the ridge line from this place is now full of houses on the one side.  It sort of ruins it a bit, but what can you do?

The temperature is a nice 26 C, and the wind keeps it nice.  Sometimes the wind can take over a bit, but that is just the way it is all through southern Central America this time of year.  However, the wind here is nothing as crazy as it was at Tamarindo, or all through southern Nicaragua. that was just a pain in the ass.

I finally got a chance to wash my car properly.  Looks a little better.  Vacuum it out as well.  I have found out that you can drive over to Bocas del Toro from here, and there it is a ferry across to Isla Colon.  I wasn’t sure about that.  I will drive instead of fly.  I think the car will make it. All the roads I have been on here are perfect.  Bring your bike!

From Isla Colon there is a launch that takes you to another island down there, but I forget the name right now.   When I get to Isla Colon, that will be the end of this trip.

I can’t believe it.  Actually, what I can’t believe is that I am not more “shocked” to be here in Panama.  This has been just a d ream since the last time I was down here.  I never really thought at the time that I would one day be rolling around the side of the volcano here in a car that I drove here.  Sort of nuts, itsn’t it, but in reality, it has just been a matter of plugin’ along.  Crossing Central America one step at a time.

Ok, enough.  I save my nostalgia from my “Last Page”.
