Chillin’
The last few days have been a little off when compared to the rest of this blog. Yesterday we moved rooms and ate some pizza in Coronado. Today, neither of us got out of bed until 8:30, we went to a meeting in Coronado, went out for lunch with the gang, and came back here to hang out.
It’s too damn hot to go to the beach even though there was a weekend crowd there. Not gonna dewit.
That’s Coronado, and you can see the black sand clearer there. It’s what blew out of the top of El Valle when it was active a few years ago.
Cass’ tummy isn’t feeling well, which was simply a matter of time really. I had my bout on Boca Brava, but knocked back some Habanero sauce in a shot glass to flush it out. Worked a charm.
The rest from figuring things out daily is welcome for me. There is a certain weariness that sets in after a long time on the road. Moving in, moving out, figuring out bathroom taps, trying to locate supplies in an ever changing environment, changing prices, change change change.
I’ve been able to figure out a few of the how to’s of getting to the places I want to be, such as the Panama Canal after all this time, the causeway out by all the gajillion dollar boats, and the Parque National de Soberania which is pretty much pristine jungle. They are still in the same places, but some of the roads have changed, and the map in my head is dusty. Going to meetings here has gone a long way towards answering a few of those questions, as well as returning a fleeting sense of normalcy and routine to an otherwise transient lifestyle.
So it’s really nice that the internet reaches into our room (except Cass’ phone with the weak antenae), and there is A/C, and restaurants close by, and stores just the same, and parking right in front. Tomorrow we move again to a better room, and from there, pffft, whatever. When we’re ready to move on, we will.
