Same as it ever was…
dunno why it just came to mind
… the cars go by, watching the water running through..
…And you may find yourself, sitting in a rocking chair,…
And you may find yourself…. breaking a bed all by yourself…
Wandering around, you just never know what you’re going to find yourself doing, seeing, watching, hearing. What’s truly amazing is what you get used to, and disregard as normal, and how fast that can happen.
Seeing a 1 ton go by loaded with 5 cows. Normal.
Watching a river in front of your rocking chair. Normal.
Wearing shoes after 4 PM. Bad idea.
Ordering chow mein and expecting it. Over-reaching.
Seeing a guy drive by with a monkey on his shoulder. Kinda weird.
Paying more than 10 buks for dinner. Outrageous!
It’s been a hot and lazy past few days here with the car down the hill. Yesterday was almost a day off, doing very little but the basics. We began going through all the things I had collected or brought down originally with the car that weren’t tossed out with the first cleaning up the hill. Tubes of sunscreen had seeped, batteries had corroded, bug juice had leaked… bla bla
Stashed away in a rolled up raincoat in the trunk, I found the face plate for the car stereo which I thought had been stolen years before. Unrolling the coat, it fell out, and I was like “WTF?!?” I didn’t recognize it at first… but there’s a longer story to it than that.
I said I thought it had been stolen, so I never bothered to look for it the last time I was down. That whole trip was tuneless, which s u c k e d. When I got back to Canada, I got online, found one after a loooong hunt, ordered and bought it, and had it sitting, waiting in my dresser drawer at home ever since. Knowing I was finally going to have tunes the next time I came, I bought a removable hard drive and copied all my tunes to it to bring with and burn to CD’s like I did before.
It was only when I was sitting in the car seat here, looking at the empty spot where it should go, that I realized I had left it at home. #%$%&*^ x 2. E-mails had been sent, it was going to be mailed, which was sort of a crapshoot whether it showed up or not.
To find it there, and working after all those years, let’s just say I was giddy.
Got up this morning ans aweit hgvqfq
Cass here, I took over
To hot to do anything. Not that I’m complaining, but I am. You get a few hours in the morning to do stuff comfortably, and that’s it. We went for a long walk this afternoon to try and find car parts, and kept being sent ‘1-2 blocks up’ every time. Chasing the shady side of the street, we eventually found ourselves at a big Walmart type store. Air Conditioned!! Yup, we shopped a while. ‘Till our clothes were dry anyways. Hopped in a cab which stunk like an open gas can, and the windows didn’t roll down. Mike was so excited to exit he forgot a bag of our shopping goodies!!! $$#&^$*&()^^&$##%@^&(*&((&^ Like what Mike said above lol. Was so upsetting, it was the “good” bag. We sat up front for a bit and the guy came back with our bag!!!! It was like winning the lottery!! Was so happy!!
Last night after our “Chinese food” (shredded greasy cabbage??) we got caught in a downpour. We finally said screw it and hopped our way home, crossing streets with water passed our ankles. Puddle jumping 🙂 It was fun.
I guess I was a little wordy…
Random shots (Cass is always carrying the camera):
Ok, so just what is this?
It’s a candle holder upside down… lol
Biggest straws ever. I wish I had a Slurpee to go with
The color coded dollar store… for your Jenn P
First cigar.
Dinah (leftovers) and the morning coffee spot.
It took a while to learn how to do this, but I saved the best for last…
