The Great Escape
I walked along Sunset Blvd last night and the walk of fame. The names are a lot more current than the last time I was here. In the morning, I cruised Beverly Hills just enough to say I was there. If you look carefully, you can see the Beverly Hills sign in red…
Then it was all about planning my escape. #%&^%$@ grid-lock city. they gave me some crappy little map attached to my room key that was just enough to get me down to the #10 and then OUT!!! I was going to go to Long Beach and watch all the roller-girls go by, but screw that. I just had to leave.
I couldn’t believe all the crap that was on the highway on the way out. Couches, chairs, car bumpers, 10 000 blown tires, you name it, and all along the inside of the highway. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned up in months, but of course, when would they do that? I was doing 80-90 MPH and and was the slower car most of the time.
Has anyone ever seen that movies with Eddie Murphy in it? They are filming a movie behind a stars’ back and he is the “stunt double”. There is a scene where he has to run across a freeway. If you’ve seen it, you will get the picture. Certain death. Anyways… just not a big fan of big cities.
**That movie is Bowfinger** –> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9cb5Ka9SqGM
The freeway out to Vegas was no slower. Like States Autobahn. Easily, the cruising speed was 100 MPH. Uphill and down. A word of thanks to Twogunz, this little kitty just keeps purrin’. I’m glad I could pup off a couple of shots, because there isn’t anywhere to stop there either.
Finding my hotel was surprisingly easy, so I walked a few block and shot these.
The smog here is terrible. There are whole blocks where it just smells like a bus tailpipe, and then you get a bit of a breeze, but i’m going to spend the day here tomorrow to see some of the rest. I’ve never been here before so it’s all eye candy. Drove down to the Vegas strip to get my bearing, and so far it reminds me of Cancun, only bigger.
Vegas is a lot easier to get around. It will be good to cool my heels for a day and take a break from driving. As you can tell, I am getting a little testy about it. Time to chill.
