Boca Chica Pics
Ok, I spent most of today messing around with different ideas about my car. Seems to occupy a lot of time, but this is what I “left for later” when I came back to Canada the last time. Who says time heals everything??
Long story short, I have it running nicely again, and what a relief. I won’t get cocky just yet, though. I haven’t taken it up and down any difficult terrain, but shortly that is in the plans.
Here are the pictures of Boca Chica as seen from Sea Gull Cove Lodge.
Uh, just thought I’d throw that in. I didn’t know there were armadillos here either. Learn learn learn…
What a view! There is always a nice breeze coming in off the ocean, and you can see a bunch of little beaches within a twenty minute boat ride. Off to the right is an island with a waterslide on it, and some of these islands are privately owned.
There are about 8 little cabanas up near the top and a long winding set of stairs down to the beach. The restaurant is at the top, and the food is good, but PRICEY !! and not enough. I am standing on a dock that goes out 300 ft into the bay and will moor large yachts when finished. They are really going for the high end market on this one, and who can blame them. If I had the money, I’d buy the place and fly everyone down for a month and no one would want to leave.
As you can see, I still need a little sun. I scare the chickens here! Y’know, these pictures just don’t do it any justice at all. From here, you could see for miles and miles. The ocean is off in the background, but you can’t tell from this shot.
There is an area in Panama called Peninsula de Azuero that I have read has a pile of great beaches, both for surfing and body-surfing. Seeing as I haven’t really explored Panama much at all, I thought I would start there.
Y’know, I hope the rest of this trip is as nice. This is a different time of year for me to be down here. The other times I came earlier in the season. Right now is the height of the dry season, meaning HOT!!!, and most places you go have a constant wind, and good for it. The bugs are different, the animals I see are different, and the weather should start to break into the rainy season just about the time I am set to return in April.
That’s all for now.
